Every Christmas since the 1800s, boys and men collect in the Tshifudi cattle dip to test their mettle. In the fall of 2018, the HAMA Association launched a Kickstarter to raise the funds necessary to translate one of the most comprehensive sources on Historical African Martial Arts: “Kitāb al-makhzūn jāmiʻ al-funūn”, which loosely translates to “The Treasure that Combines All Arts”. With the help of over 300 donors, we met our goal to finance the project. Come with us on a journey of discovery as we bring this ancient text into the modern world.
